Join us for evening of musical tasters from various backgrounds-
Participate in the celebration of humanity and our unique ability to express emotions through art and music.
The evening is a preview of an exhibition of paintings by German artist Monika Thoms, which is shown 4th-10th February 2012 at St. Peters? Church, Notting Hill. The event features amongst others the Choir of St Peter’s; its Organ, played by Peter Yarde Martin and Professor Surinder Singh, Master of Naad Yoga.
Monika Thoms is a contemporary artist working with the skill and imagination of an Old Master. Her epic altarpiece work references Picasso`s “Guernica” and other great works of Western Art History. Think too of Veronese`s “Supper at Cana” and you have some idea of the sheer size and scale of the work.
The evening promises a meeting between East and West, a symphony of both harmonic and melodic music, a common ground for people from all walks of life.
Join us for a moment of stillness, appreciation and serenity, ornamented with sacred, inter-religious sounds, resonation humility and humanity.
