How the Mighty Fall: Reading between the lines from the Mahabharata
Ernst & Young will be hosting an event on Monday 4 July 2011 entitled “How the Mighty Fall: Reading between the lines from the Mahabharata.” Flyer and format (page 2 of flyer) for the evening attached. Guest speaker for the evening will be His Holiness Bhakti Rasamrita Swami, who qualified with an MBA from the University of Mumbai, later taking up a post at Standard Chartered. After spending time in the corporate world, Bhakti Rasamtrita Swami has spent over 20 years studying and teaching from the Vedas including the Mahabharata, in which he is exceptionally well versed.
The session will be based on lessons from the two books: i) How the Mighty Fall (recent best-seller by Jim Collins, the author of “Good to Great”),? and ii) The Mahabharata, well-known spiritual epic of ancient India. Topics will be based on the fascinating parallels that can be drawn between the 5 Stages of Decline outlined by Jim Collins, and the decisive events from the Mahabrahata (page 2 of the flyer). Our speaker will be drawing lessons for us as individuals and leaders in the corporate world from these wonderful works.
