As part of the DSC South Asian Literary Festival there is a launch of the book The Golden Temple of Amritsar: Reflections of the Past.
Bhai Ghulam Muhammad Chand will be playing keertan again highlighting the lost art of the Rababi tradition within Sikh worship.
Also Nidar Singh will be highlighting the lost martial art of Shastar Vidiya and explaining how the Sikhs were once masters of this battlefield science and how they utilised it in times gone by to defend the temple.
Finally we’ll have a panel discussion with the team behind the book and exhibition chaired by award winning author (The Boy with the Top Knot) and journalist (The Times & Financial Times columnist), Sathnam Sangera.
Its free and runs from 6.30-8.30 this Friday at the Nehru Centre, 8 South Audley Street W1K 1HF.
