The Saint Vincent de Paul Society, a Christian charity, which aims to provide direct practical assistance to everyone in need, are creating a series of one-off opportunities for volunteering, with the hope that people from all religions will come together to help the vulnerable. Below is the text for the event:
Drop into our Community Shop in Hackney (484-486 Kingsland Rd, E8 4A) at any time between 10h and 20h—we will need help decorating the shop for Christmas, wrapping presents and preparing donations for sale, as well as sorting stock. Refreshments will be available throughout the day, and you are welcome to spend as much or as little time as you have. Any help is very welcome, and do feel free to bring in your own present for someone in need.
If you have any questions, contact Siobhan at siobhan.garibaldi@ntlworld.com or on 07929490090 (text or call), and if you can, it would be great if you could let her know that you are coming – but do drop in spontaneously, too.
