The Richmond Holi Festival 2012
The time’s come again for the festival of colours! One of my favourite festivals of the year ….. and a good excuse to get completely covered in colour!! We will meet in Waterloo Station outside Costa Coffee at 10:00 and be ready to catch the train by half past 10. This year the colours of Spring will burst beyond the grounds of Orleans House Gallery as Holi extends to Twickenham town centre. Promenade performers will bring the high street to life with street theatre and music and Church Street will host an Indian market selling traditional crafts and goods.The festival at Orleans House Gallery will see the traditional bright coloured powder being thrown amongst the crowds along with an exciting programme of dance and music including Bollywood and Bhangra.. Come and celebrate the end of winter and welcome in spring, with vibrant music, dance, art workshops, stalls selling customary delicacies and the traditional play of colours!
The Richmond Holi Festival 2012 is proudly sponsored by 02, with the entertainment programmes delivered in partnership with KSPARK entertainments . Holi is also delivered in partnership with the Ethnic Minorities Advocacy Group (EMAG) and the Twickenham Town Business Association
Performances will take place in Twickenham Town Centre from 11.30am and the main event at Orleans House Gallery will be from 1.00-4.00pm.
Please note there is no parking at Orleans House Gallery and we strongly recommend travel by public transport.Orleans House Gallery is a short walk from Twickenham station or St Margaret?s station, or a bus journey from Richmond Station (Buses: R68, H22, R70 490) . Twickenham is in zone 5 and is served by rail services from Waterloo and Clapham Junction
